For Immediate Release

Fort Worth – The College Gridiron Showcase & Symposium (CGS), founded in 2015 and the first college football all-star event to implement an OTA-style format for eligible draft picks, will return to Fort Worth, Texas January 17-21, 2021, and will add new caveats to this year’s program including combine testing drills.

With its unique showcase format, no other premiere college football all-star event gives participants as many quality opportunities to display their talent.  Adapting to the times, the 2021 Showcase will see players perform individual and non-timed, non-contact combine style drills, attend meetings, and, in many cases have the opportunity for personal interviews with scouts and executives.

With the cancellation of the 2021 East-West Shrine Game, and the uncertainty of other all-star games and college pro days, CGS is one of the few high-profile post-season events at which draft-eligible seniors can showcase their skills and interface with scouts and executives prior to 2021 league drafts.

“This past year has taken a toll on the football community and we hope the resumption of our event can help bring back at least a little sense of normalcy in these tough times,” said CGS Executive Director Jose Jefferson.  “That said, we are taking extra steps to adhere to best practices for social distancing and spread prevention. We have taken it a step further and brought Bambu Global on board to assist in devising a Covid-19 testing strategy as an extra layer of protection to help ensure the safety of all involved with the event.”

This year’s Showcase will again include the CGS Small School Invitational Showcase presented by Reveal Suits designed to provide exposure for small school football players to NFL teams and other professional leagues; the InstantScouting Pro Gridiron Showcase that allows free agents to participate in on-field workouts consisting of individual drills, and combine testing (includes 40’s and short shuttle); and the CGS Specialist Showcase presented by One on One Kicking to spotlight kickers, punters and long-snappers.

In addition to its on-field aspects, CGS also contains a strong professional football education symposium component.  Athletes are provided education through seminars relating to Financial Education, Life as a Professional Athlete, Player Expectations (on and off-field), first-hand accounts from former NFL rookies, social media responsibilities, and more.  For more information on the College Gridiron Showcase and the CGS Small School Invitational Showcase, please visit cgsallstar.com.
