College Gridiron Showcase & Symposium Moves to McNair Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas

Successes of 5th year event prompt move to larger venue, addition of Small School Showcase

For Immediate Release

Fort Worth, October 15, 2018 – The College Gridiron Showcase & Symposium (CGS), founded in 2015 and the first college football all-star event to implement an OTA-style format for eligible draft picks, will return to the Texas on January 5-9, 2019 at McNair Stadium in Fort Worth.

With its unique format – a showcase with a controlled scrimmage rather than a game reliant on playing time and play calling – no other premiere college football all-star event gives participants as many quality opportunities to display their talent.

The numbers from the first four events speak for themselves.

In CGS’ first 4 years:

  • More than 380 players have received NFL opportunities (Including more than 110 in 2018 alone)
  • 2018 saw 8 CGS Alumni drafted in the CFL draft (8 of the first 41 selections)
  • 30 players from CGS 2018 are on NFL rosters
  • CGS has reach into over 700 Colleges / Universities, and each year CGS brings in players from over 100 different colleges and universities
  • In 2018 CGS had more than 80 NFL agents in attendance
  • In 2018 CGS had more than 150 Pro Scouts in attendance (115 NFL Scouts from 30 of the 32 teams)
  • Each of the 32 NFL teams has had CGS alumni on their roster.
  • 60% of CGS players each year receive NFL Opportunities
  • CGS currently has 64 alumni on NFL rosters
  • CGS has more than 30 players on CFL roster

In addition to its on-field aspects, CGS also contains a strong professional football education symposium component. Athletes are provided education through seminars relating to Financial Education, Life as a Professional Athlete, Player Expectations (on and off field), first-hand accounts from former NFL rookies, social media responsibilities, and more.

The 2019 College Gridiron Showcase has added a new CGS Small School Invitational Showcase designed to provide exposure for small school football players to NFL teams, along with other professional leagues. This event will be a 1 day showcase for those athletes vying for the attention of NFL scouts. Those performing well will have an opportunity to be included in the CGS 4-day event.
