Move includes new partnership with Crowne Plaza
Addison, June 12, 2017 – Today, the College Gridiron Showcase & Symposium (CGS) announced a partnership with the Town of Addison, TX to host its fourth annual event January 6-10 2018, and that Greenhill School will be the host field for the CGS event.Said CGS Co-Founder & Director of Operations Craig Redd, “The move was necessary to accommodate the growth we’ve seen as an organization over the past three years. Texas has been our home from the beginning, and, while we appreciate the hospitality of our previous two hosts, we simply outgrew them. Addison gives us the geographic convenience we’ve always had with the amenities to best service our players, partners and organization both on and off the field.”
In addition to on-field drills and a controlled scrimmage, a large part of CGS focuses on overall player development. With the move to the new location, player housing and educational components will be centered at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Near Galleria-Addison. Said Redd, “The size, space and amenities at the Crowne Plaza will be a major upgrade from previous years, and allow for our players and sponsors alike to take full advantage of our event’s offerings throughout the week.”
ABOUT CGS
CGS is a college post-season showcase for NFL Draft-eligible players across all college football divisions. CGS selects via a panel of football experts. Players come in for 5 days and 4 nights to be evaluated by professional football league scouts. The players receive professional coaching, mentoring, life coaching and seminars that will benefit them as they move forward in their professional lives in or out of football.
Since 2015, 273 CGS participants have had an opportunity to extend their careers through the NFL draft, free agency, rookies camp invitations and tryouts, with several others being drafted or signed to play in the CFL.
