CGS Halo Neuroscience All-Star & Select MVPs

All-Star Offense: TE Anthony Kukwa, Lake Erie

This kid is athletic, he has adequate size and he has ball skills. He also showed a lot of power in his blocking drills with excellent form and great pop in his blocks. Kukwa is an intriguing guy because of his versatility and movement skills. He could be an H-back, he can function as an inline player and some team might try him as a long snapper. Kukwa doesn’t show off any elite category but he doesn’t have a lot of weaknesses and he simply does a lot of things well. He should be a highly sought after player this draft season because he is a “Swiss Army Knife” type of guy that brings a lot of different skills sets to the table on game day.

All-Star Deffense: DE Chris Odom, Arkansas State

The Texas native Chris Odom was another player that shined in contain, he won pass rushing reps and annihilated two different run plays that I saw. Odom has a very long frame, he uses his hands well and has the long arms needed to separate himself from would be blockers. You would like to see him develop a counter move and utilize a spin move to transition that athleticism but he wins against a lot of different body types and has a lot of spring in his first step. There’s got to be a place for this guy at the next level because of his size and strength.

Select Offense: QB Tyler Ferguson, Western Kentucky

Ferguson is a well traveled player that has seen time at both Penn State and Louisville but even before that he was a highly rated prospect out of College of the Sequoias. He may have been a late addition to the Showcase roster but is more than welcomed after showing off a big arm, a smooth delivery and solid placement throughout the day. His ceiling may be more of the backup quarterback level but he has prototype size, the velocity needed to drive the ball and a nice snap on his

Select Defense: CB Ray Buchanan Jr., Northern Iowa

The star of today and the defensive MVP was “the bloodline” Ray Buchanan Jr from Northern Iowa who snared two picks in the scrimmage and took one back to the house from end zone to end zone. Buchanan has the long speed and the shiftiness in the open field to make a play after a turnover but he is also a sticky cornerback that shadows receivers and has the acceleration needed to recover to finish a play.
